The rebuilding of the CBR 602 Late Model

Welcome everyone to the CBR blog. As we start this new chapter of keeping the fans and sponsors of CBR informed about the progress of CBR on our quest to be the 2023 Dells Raceway Park Champion we look forward to your involvement as fans and sponsors. Go to our Facebook page at Charlie Bates Racing | Facebook and let us know what you want us to talk about and tell us what you think of how the car is coming along.

We started soon after the 2022 season on a path to be a contender for the Dells Raceway Park 2023 championship. Getting the entire body off, getting the engine out and off to Wagner Automotive to be freshened and certified. going through the suspension, we found a variety of small things we wanted to change and update.

Some of the changes we have decided on to this point are the purchase of some new QA1 shocks, a new set of RaceQuip belts and a new RCI fuel cell.

We expect the new QA1 shocks will allow for more adjustment and fine tuning to the performance of the CBR 602 Late Model. As the competition gets greater each year these adjustments will make a great difference in our quest to compete for the championship. The new RCI fuel cell will enhance the performance of the CBR 602 Late Model, going from an eighteen-gallon cell to an eight-gallon fuel cell will allow us to move over one hundred and twenty-five pounds to a more central area of the CBR 602 Late Model keeping the CBR 602 Late Model more consistent. Last, but not least is safety with our new RaceQuip belts, safety is always just as or more important in racing and CBR takes safety very seriously.

In the coming weeks CBR will update the progress of the CBR 602 Late Model and the sponsors involved with CBR.
